| The selected individual will work closely with scientists, the NASA educational community, formal and informal educators, parents, children, and the general public to develop, carry out, and occasionally lead numerous education and public outreach programs and projects. Work includes leading face-to-face and distance-learning-based science workshops for educators, developing educational products for classrooms, museums, and after-school programs, and building and supporting learning communities. In addition the successful applicant will be expected to as communicate science to, and conduct programs for, the general public. | |
| Required Qualifications: | |
| Candidates must have a Master's degree in Earth, planetary science, or science education, or similar field, and experience in either formal or informal educational outreach. Strong writing and oral communication skills and the ability to work in a team environment are required. | |
| Desired Qualifications: | |
| Proficiency in the Microsoft Office Suite, Web 2.0 and social media, curriculum development, and familiarity with current pedagogical theories for formal and informal education and website development are strongly preferred. Experience in developing and implementing education evaluations is a plus, as are science-writing skills. | |
