POSITION DESCRIPTION

Job Title: Senior Portal Business Analyst
Function: IS
Reports to: Project Manager, IS

POSITION QUALIFICATION SUMMARY

Collect, analyze and document business and system requirements and translate user requirements into technical solutions. Requirements Management - Lead and participate in interviews and design sessions to document and develop business requirements into preliminary and detailed design documents within SAP Enterprise Portal framework. Use the Rational Unified Project (RUP) and Rational Suite of tools to document and validate requirements. Work with multiple customer groups to document user, system, and functional requirements. Document existing business processes with Visio including flow diagrams, new procedures, and interdepartmental processes. Testing - Develop unit, system, and integration test plans and create test scripts from detailed design documents. Participate in integration testing, defect tracking, and acceptance testing and make recommendations for system improvements. Perform Quality Assurance (QA) and Quality Control (QC) functions to ensure consistency that all requirements are included in the design, code, & testing phases and that the final results meet standards. Communication - Must have excellent interpersonal communication skills and work well with both technical and non-technical staff. Develop training documentation and user guides for assigned systems.

• Perform moderately complex system and business process analysis, identify inadequate or inefficient systems and recommend alternatives to reduce cost or increase efficiency.
• This position requires a fair amount of critical thinking and problem solving with varying degrees of complexity.
• Contribute to project estimating efforts - providing input/clarity on business requirements and options to implement those requirements.
• Ability to coordinate multiple assignments/projects simultaneously.
• Responsible and accountable for meeting deadlines.
• Help prepare/lead training and information sessions for end users.
• Manage own workload, accurately estimate effort for tasks, and work with business users on priorities/goals, and work towards meeting those goals.
• Ability to work on cross-functional project teams and foster team commitment to tasks.
• An ability to work in an unstructured vs. structured environment - the candidate should be able to quickly understand Company's business and application boundaries to ensure success.
• An ability to work in a fast-paced and rapidly changing environment and by being able to quickly respond to new deadlines.
• Ability to effectively present ideas to management.
• The Business Systems Analyst may be required to travel to other destinations (particularly UK, Madrid, Durban, Sydney) depending on key application and project requirements.

Qualifications
Mandatory Qualifications:
• 8 -10 years' IT experience.
• Minimum 6 years of business analysis experience and successful delivery of assigned tasks.
• Strong process and data modeling skills.
• Excellent communicator, both written and oral.
• Practical, hands-on personality.
• Ability to work in team-oriented environment.
• Candidates need to be familiar with UML and Use Cases.
• Prefer candidates with SAP Enterprise Portal experience.
• Bachelor's degree in Business, Computer Science, or related area required; MBA preferred.
