Position Description:
The Senior Process Engineering Technician - 2nd Shift ensures appropriate technologies, controls, capital equipment, processes and systems are implemented to support the manufacture of products within the desired schedule, quality, cost, efficiency, and meet the intended design standards.
The Senior Process Engineering Technician makes improvements via material changes, equipment improvements, product flow evaluations or engineering tools such as Statistical Process Control and Design of Experiments and works with other departments in support of the company’s quality system and strategic plan; hands-on support is required. Additional responsibilities will include:
1. May provide training and assistance to production personnel.
a. Works with personnel to provide direction, guidance, support, and motivation in accordance with department and company goals and objectives.
b. Works with subordinates to help them gain increased job responsibilities.
2. Coordinates schedules, budgets, and priorities, with Development, Quality Assurance, Production, etc. to support introducing new or modified processes and/or products to the production floor, and maintain the current production processes.
a. Supports development projects by assuring equipment and processing needs are identified early in the development cycle, qualification plans are established, and supports transition into mass production.
b. Develops or works to meet project timelines, coordinates intra and inter department activities to accomplish schedule while maintaining budget and containing costs
c. Identifies, develops, approves, implements, and monitors new or modified manufacturing processes and/or equipment consistent with established procedures and applicable standards.
3. Implements measures to ensure smooth manufacturing product flow and efficient utilization of space.
a. Monitors and reacts to trends in key process parameters, i.e. yields, output, throughput, and capacity. As required, assists in developing systems to monitor and report on the process parameters.
b. Conducts product flow evaluations and implements process improvements to maximize efficiencies in new and established processes.
c. Proactively identifies processing bottlenecks and identifies activities to ensure compliance with approved production plans.
d. Performs and provides direction for process validation in conjunction with Product and Quality Engineering.
e. Performs and provides direction for the qualification/validation of new and current equipment.
f. Analyzes processes and procedures for potential safety and clean room issues. Develops safety procedures, documents, and training as needed.
4. Controls and maintains manufacturing processes and equipment, including identifying any calibration requirements, determining and performing preventive maintenance, while coordinating activities with Product and Quality Engineering and Production as required.
5. Works in support of company objectives for manufacturing company products and schedules for introducing new products and within department budget to meet these goals throughout the fiscal year.
Technical & Behavioral Requirements:
1. Technical degree in electronics, science, or other technical discipline is required
2. Three (3) years experience in the Process validation and design verification, design of experiments, statistical process control, FMEA and other risk assessment techniques, and GLPs is required
3. Three (3) years experience with utilizing blueprints, basic to intermediate skill in developing tools and fixturing and process flow strategies including just-in-time, cell manufacturing, Kanban and demand flow is required
4. Three (3) years experience with GMP and ISO regulations, statistics, six sigma, quality and efficiency metrics, and trending applications is required.
5. Three (3) years experience with software programs including Solidworks, Microsoft Word, Matrix, Excel, PowerPoint, PLM, MRP and project scheduling software is required.
6. Strong competency in Customer Focus, Driving for Results, Integrity and Trust, Ethics and Values and Compassion.
7. Proven ability to demonstrate at minimum, MEDRAD’s Team Contributor competencies: Action Oriented, Perseverance, Dealing with Ambiguity, Learning on the fly and Problem Solving.
