Responsibilities:
- Provide technical leadership, mentoring, and supervision of Process Quality Engineering Staff
- Interface with customers to ensure compliance and resolution of any reported issues.
- Utilizes Six Sigma/Lean tools to evaluate products and processes. Analyzes root causes of deficiencies and ensures proper corrective actions are implemented in a timely manner. Participates in cross-functional team efforts to improve products and processes.
- Administers Material Review Board, Corrective/Preventative Action, and Internal Audit Systems.
- Ensures that system(s) and processes meet industry standards (e.g., ISO9000:2000, JEDEC) and customer requirements while driving toward “world class" practices and standards.
- Reviews practices, procedures and processes seeking avenues to improve efficiency and effectiveness and reduce risk to product quality.
- Leads development, implementation, maintenance and improvement of quality system(s) and processes that ensure that product and process changes are implemented in a correct and timely manner.
- Monitors quality metrics and goals to drive quality improvement efforts.
Critical skills, knowledge and abilities:
- Strong knowledge of state-of-the-art quality systems including Six-Sigma (DMAIC), Automotive APQP, PPAP.
- In-depth knowledge of quality metrics, ISO, MIL and IPC standards, and processes
- Knowledge of software and its uses in generating reports, capturing data, and presenting data in an understandable format
- Strong knowledge of electronic and/or pwb manufacturing processes
- Knowledge and understanding of the business processes and how decisions impact customer satisfaction, product quality, and on-time delivery
- Demonstrated ability in the use and application of SPC/DOE/FMEA and other problem solving methodologies
- Ability to lead a team and coordinate resources to meet quality metrics
- Ability to accomplish tasks through influencing others.
- Ability to effectively communicate with a wide variety of internal and external customers and/or suppliers
- Ability to use some or all of the following PC applications: MS Office, MS Project, MS Vision, MiniTab
Qualifications:
- 5-10+ years experience in high volume, electronic manufacturing or relevant experience, including supervisory experience.
- BS or MS degree; Materials Science, Electrical Engineering, or related science degree
- ASQ Certified Quality Engineer
- Familiarity with power conversion theory including AC/DC and DC/DC
- Certified Black Belt Preferred
