





The incumbent
will be responsible for the creation and execution of a sourcing strategy in
support of the global application services needs of Informatics IM groups (PGL,
PGM, PGS). The individual must be able to lead sourcing programs and activities
for all packaged and developed software needs for Roche to include dealing with
such companies as Oracle, SAP, Tibco, EMC, IBM, Accenture and offshore
suppliers. Will work with the Informatics executive team and their staffs to
identify, select and manage the suppliers to cover this 100M CHF in annual
spend. Seek opportunities that provide the best value for Genentech Informatics
as well as other Roche divisions and affiliates. Will interact with senior
levels of the strategic suppliers and is expected to be able to drive the Roche
agenda in those interactions.
Requirements:
This position
requires overall related job experience of 12 to 15 years which includes at
least seven years of strategic sourcing experience in multiple areas of
technology and at least eight years total procurement experience. The applicant
must have in-depth software industry experience to include understanding of
pricing and business models employed in the IT industry. He/she should also
have hands on experience in evaluating proposals to select software suppliers. Experience
in the use of offshore resorting, creating global sourcing strategies, managing
global suppliers and operating in a global environment is vital to success in
this role.
