Senior Procurement Specialist

JOB DESCRIPTION:

Protection Strategies Incorporated is looking for a Procurement Specialist to work in our headquarters in Arlington, VA.  This is a salaried position that will be reporting to our Director of Contracts Administration.  The primary job focus is to provide the company with sourcing process expertise.  The candidate’s duties will include end to end procurement process; from acquisition strategy through to award, contract and risk management and stakeholder engagement both internally and with suppliers.

REQUIRED SKILLS:

·         In depth understanding of Federal Acquisition Regulation and military acquisitions to include:  aircraft transportation, ammunition, vehicles, personnel and goods.

·         Familiarity with export licensing requirements and end-user certifications for international operations.

·         Solid communication and interpersonal skills.

·         Demonstrated competency in Microsoft Office Suite, MS Project and pricing models.

·         Ability to analyze and develop project cost estimates.

 

RESPONSIBILITIES:

·         Provide the company with subject matter expertise for sourcing processes, analytics, resources and tools across the entire sourcing life cycle: Vendor Selection, Contracting, Transitioning and On-Going Service Management.

·         Develop competitive analysis.

·         Negotiate contracts, pricing, service, specifications and inventory control. 

·         Develop and maintain relationships with local sourcing teams and other stakeholders as well as key suppliers.

·         Work on special projects, as assigned, that involve supply chain management, or budgeting knowledge, or similar knowledge/skills pertinent to the function involved.

·         Maintain Property Book records of all Government Furnished Equipment (GFE) and submit quarterly and annual reports as required. 


EDUCATION & WORK EXPERIENCE:

·         Bachelor’s degree from an accredited university

·         10 - 15 years of federal contract specialist work experience

 

SECURITY CLEARANCE:

The candidate must be eligible to obtain a security clearance.
