Senior Product Designer - Database Served Websites

As the Senior Product Designer, you will:

  • Design user interfaces for web, software, and/or hardware products
  • Write functionality design specifications
  • Design and implement prototypes, mock ups, task analysis, usability studies, personas, user flows, wireframes, style guides, navigational structures, and affinity diagrams
  • Generate design ideas; presents and sells designs to product group
  • Understand customer needs and motivations and integrates them into product design to contribute to user features and functionality
  • Act as consultant to other team leads and may manage external production and design resources

This is an estimated 6-12 month contract position through Volt Technical & Creative Communication - a division of a Fortune 1000 publicly traded Staffing Industry Leader, which is headquartered in Bothell, Washington. We are among the largest IT staffing companies in the US for contract/temporary and direct hire placements and support most of the top rated IT companies in the Pacific Northwest.



Requirements:

Required Skills for this Senior Product Designer position includes the following:

  • 5+ years work related experience, preferably for a large software company
  • Minimum of 2 years experience in a lead role
  • Strong knowledge of user interface and functionality design
  • Exceptional creative skills and ability to generate design ideas
  • Expert level experience creating and implementing usability studies, personas, user flows, wireframes, style guides, navigational structures, and affinity diagrams
  • Advanced knowledge of web technologies (i.e. HTML and CSS)
  • Fluency with standard design software tools (Photoshop, Illustrator, etc)
  • Advanced interaction design and web technology skills (i.e. Flash) may be required
  • Strong knowledge of database served websites
  • Familiar with industry standards and trends
  • Experience working with rich client or web applications preferred
  • Ability to understand and integrate customer needs and motivations into specific areas of product design to contribute to user features and functionality
  • Strong communication skills, as well as, the ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Ability to own and drive projects
