Blount is an exciting place to work with challenging and rewarding projects, and we are seeking dynamic individuals to join our Company.  The successful candidate will provide leadership and focused direction for our Outdoor Equipment Product line by developing mission and purpose using a Strategy Map and a Balanced Scorecard, develop and implement product line plans and policies, anticipate and respond to market needs, generate and implement new product ideas, prioritize and drive projects and resources, and remove barriers to ensure product line success.

 

SPECIFIC JOB DUTIES WILL INCLUDE:

 

  • Define goals, objectives, and strategies that align with Organizational Strategic Plan to ensure long term success of the Outdoor Equipment Product line.
  • Develop and implement product line plans and product line policies.
  • Utilize product evaluation, market intelligence, production rates, capacity, forecasting, advertising, and packaging towards a goal of never-ending internal process improvement.
  • Establish and monitor budgets and targets for margin, inventory levels, and capacity equipment investment to ensure product line profitability.
  • Prioritize product opportunities to maximize sales and profits.
  • Provide strong leadership for Product Line Management Teams and maintain continuity between Manufacturing, Engineering, and Marketing to maintain standardization, coordination, and reduce waste.
  • Monitor and regulate customer service levels through internal systems and vendors to ensure on time deliveries that result in increased customer service.
  • Participate in the development of vendor agreements, global sales promotions, appropriation requests, long range planning processes, Original Equipment Manufacturers contracts, and global pricing relationships.


EDUCATION:

 

·     Bachelor's degree in business, marketing, engineering or equivalent discipline is required.  MBA a plus.

 

QUALIFICATIONS:

 

·     Seven or more years professional-level experience in product line management or similar position

·     Comparable industry experience managing a high volume of replacement parts/skus/catalog items (e.g. lawn and garden products, outdoor equipment products, power tools, cleaning tools, kitchen appliances, vacuums, pumps and air moving equipment).

  • Demonstrated ability to lead and drive decision making
  • Ability to plan, prioritize and execute work based on many variables
  • Ability to think strategically as well as deal with day-to-day issues
  • Demonstrated commitment to meeting customer requirements and expectations
  • Able to function and lead effectively in complex and sometimes stressful situations
  • Excellent project management skills
  • Excellent Business Acumen
  • Outstanding presentation and communication skills to include verbal, written, and listening
  • Team player with strong interpersonal and communication skills; able to build rapport and communicate and influence effectively at all levels and across disciplines
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite is required
  • The ability to travel periodically both domestically and internationally as needed for the job
