Senior Business Intelligence Engineer

Position title: Senior Business Intelligence Engineer

Locations: Austin, Dallas Texas or Bay area, California

Position responsibilities/description:

In this role the qualified candidate will be responsible for designing and executing automated and other strategies to extract data from customer hubs.  Specific responsibilities include but are not limited to the following:

·         Design architecture to measure, report and monitor solution effectiveness and value delivered for all customers.

·         Lead the design for automating and centralizing measurement and monitoring of individual customer solutions.

•         Develop and manage database schema, ETL and data mining.

•         Develop and maintain schema changes, PL/SQL procedures, views, and other scripts in support of data warehouse development and administration.

•         Develop and deploy business metric reporting framework to enable slice and dice of data and other reporting capabilities for data mining.

·         Collaborate with other members of the solutions team to define and refine KPIs and metrics for all solutions.

·         Support roll-out of measurement for all customers.

•         Collaborate with professional services to adapt and roll-out KPIs and metrics for each individual customer solution.

•         Collaborate with operations to deploy, maintain, and refine the architecture as well as ensure that appropriate probes and instrumentation is in place for collection and storage of these KPIs/metrics.

Skills desired/required:

• Experience in database data warehouse planning, design and tuning
• 4+ years of database development experience using Oracle 10/11g in an application development environment, preferably Java
• 4+ years of SQL scripting & tuning and PL/SQL development
• 4+ years of report writing with tools like Cognos

• Analytical thinker and ability to handle a wide range and number of tasks requiring all levels of technical ability.
• Ability to multi-task and enjoy teamwork, collaboration, listening and problem solving
• Ability to work autonomously with very limited supervision as well as collaboratively with others and be able to meet deadlines.
• Excellent verbal, written, and presentation communication skills. Proven history of working across teams and delivering systems and capabilities to support automated collection and interpretation of systems and solution effectiveness.
• Oracle Database Administrator Certificate preferred
• Experience with other databases like MySQL, DB2, etc
• Scripting languages: shell, perl, ant.
• Familiarity with major ERP Systems, such as SAP, Oracle EBS, etc.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office suite a plus
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or Engineering
