MARKETING UNDERWRITER – High Net Worth Personal Lines

PURE is seeking a highly motivated individual with High Net Worth Property and Casualty underwriting and marketing experience to join our team.


 


Responsibilities include:


 



  • Managing the financial performance of a $10M book of high net worth personal lines business; including profit, rate, retention and growth.
  • Successfully developing, maintaining and managing relationships with a select group of specialist independent agents and other distributors (will include some travel)
  • Assisting in development of independent agency strategy and goals, managing these agents to their goals and monitoring and reporting progress.
  • Identifying and capitalizing upon growth opportunities from new and existing production sources. 
  • Identifying and executing on cross sell opportunities within existing books of business
  • Underwriting and selecting risks within PURE guidelines and own authority
  • Developing and negotiating price, coverage, and terms and conditions for all new business and complex renewals
  • Educating independent agents on PURE products, underwriting appetite and sales initiatives
  • Consistently meet company service standards
  • Collecting and sharing industry intelligence with team; including trending and development


  • Identifying opportunities to automate the underwriting process, reduce manual intervention, and improve ease of doing business.

 


Skills required for this position:


 



  • Solid knowledge of high net worth personal insurance industry and practices. 
  • Demonstrated technical expertise and product specific knowledge
  • Strong analytical skills  
  • Proficiency or ability in sales and marketing
  • Strong interpersonal, communication and negotiation skills.
  • Ability to effectively interact with all levels of internal and external business partners; including independent agents. 
  • Experience developing and executing on marketing plans and prospects
  • Ability to be creative and adaptable in a changing business environment
  • Sound, balanced and timely decision making skills
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite as well as other business-related software
