As a Senior Program Manager/Transportation Group Leader for the Utah Region you will have the total responsibility for client development and design of roadway projects for state UDOT, local and municipal projects. You are the focal point to continue the growth of the Transportation Department; business development, client relationships and project designs.  Core strengths within the current office include traffic, transit and planning.

The Transportation Group Leader should have extensive experience with marketing and design within the transportation/roadway engineering industry including a proven track record of increasing transportation project revenue, and solid roadway engineering and knowledge.  A working knowledge of both DOT district and county and city municipal roadway design practices is required.  One must also have the ability to build and lead a team of transportation professionals.

Responsibilities:


  • Must be able to demonstrate a progressively responsible work history in transportation roadway/highway project engineering and design as well as be proficient in the utilization of highway engineering design standards and practices.

  • In addition to project management skills, you will assist in managing a group of engineers and CAD designers to complete roadway design projects of different sizes and scope. 

  • Develop and/or supervise the creation of engineering designs that meet client requirements. This includes defining the work scope, preparing the budget and schedule, planning the work, and reporting work status.

  • Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior engineers and CAD design/drafters.

  • Must be hands-on and responsive to developing and delivering project proposals.

  • Oversee project designs ensuring compliance with all applicable codes, regulations and ordinances including DOT and UDOT specs.

Qualifications: 

Position requires a BS or MS in Civil Engineering with a career track in transportation/roadway design. Large DOT projects and municipal project experience a must.  Utah PE required or ability to receive in 12 months.  Must have strong DOT business development skills, team leadership skills, technical design experience and a desire to motivate and cultivate a professional transportation engineering staff.
