Senior Project Engineer

Responsible for the development, design, and implementation of capital projects at MJN North American manufacturing sites. Projects can range from equipment upgrades to installation of entire manufacturing lines. This position may act as sole project lead, or in the case of larger projects (>$5MM) will be a part of a cross-functional project team working with both global and local engineering resources. Interacts with others to assure desired outcomes are achieved in an effective, timely, and cost efficient manner. Oversees and provides direction to designers, consultants and contractors to assure conformance with engineering practices, standards, and codes. Coordinates the development of project plans, specifications and the solicitation of competitive cost proposals. Coordinates and manages the development of the capital budget. Applies understanding of applicable codes, standards and regulatory requirements to project work and interfaces with regulatory agencies, as necessary. Routinely provides critical evaluation of existing systems to assure reliability and compliance with appropriate regulations, GMPs and good engineering practices. Understands, communicates, and drives sound change management principles and procedures. Position is also responsible for leading non-capital projects (cost reduction initiatives, etc.), as needed.


Job Requirements:
Bachelors Degree (Engineering desired) with a minimum of 5 years project leadership experience required. Good working knowledge of Project Management techniques and software. Experience in a fast-paced environment (Ex. 24 hour production) and the ability to manage multiple projects are required.  Experience in the food, dairy, or beverage industry is desired. A working knowledge of Good Manufacturing Practices, OSHA, and EPA regulations is highly desired. Candidate must have sound knowledge of financial principles, budget management, project management, construction management, equipment reliability and best in class safety practices. Must demonstrate strong leadership, communication, interpersonal, analytical, and team skills and have proven ability to deliver on commitments and drive results. This position will require up to 50% travel and may require extended stays at different sites during project implementation.
