Senior Project Manager | We are a world leader in sales, manufacturing, construction, engineering and refurbishment of power generation and air pollution control equipment. Despite a poor US economy are enjoying another very successful year and hiring!
Power Generation industry experience is preferred but we are also open to experienced PMs from other industries such as oil/refinery, heavy industry, manufacturing. We have three openings for Senior PM's and the same for Project Engineers. New England location preferred, southern and midwest locations are an option. Generous relocation provided.
| Overall responsibility includes setting strategy and master plan to direct major projects, contract administration, schedule development and maintenance, managing the communication of project requirements to functional groups; i.e., project management, engineering, manufacturing, purchasing, subcontractors, evaluation, and field operations. Responsibilities also include project financial reporting to senior management and managing project close-out, warranty efforts, customer and consortium. Also:
| - Manage a multi-function team of members from various key stakeholders – project management and engineering, manufacturing, testing, operations, service, customers and suppliers; develop procedures in conjunction with marketing and engineering as a means of establishing project engineering scope of work, scope estimates and budgeting.
- Coordination, facilitation and evaluation of multifunctional project teams to ensure efficient and on-time completion of projects. Will plan, coordinate and monitor projects, develop scope of work, confer with departments and consultants, prepare construction plans and documents, budget reports and authorization related recommendations.
- Manage and coordinate effectively the work of the Project Management Team comprised of Project Managers, Project Engineers, Project Planners and Commercial Managers and occasional interim consultants as required.
- Takes an active role in general project planning and ensures timely delivery of all progress reports, including monthly performance information and associated updates, from the team and all other imperatives linked to the work of the team.
- Research and write the required project documentation to a satisfactory standard in order that a project can be initiated, managed and closed per the terms of the contract.
- Responsible for negotiation with all key stakeholders in a given project and responding to their needs where applicable.
- Determine feasibility and costs of requests for services and proposed projects; prepare budgets, cost estimates, and project schedules for all projects.
- Plan, coordinate and monitor projects; develop scope of work; confer with departments and consultants; prepare construction plans and documents; budget reports and authorization related recommendations.
- Manage bid and proposal process, including pre-bid conferences and walk-throughs; provide technical information in response to bidder inquires; and administer construction contracts, including management of project budgets and conduct field inspections.
- Prepare reports, correspondence, agreements, graphs and tables and make presentations at meetings as required.
- Evaluate technical laws, requirements and codes and prepare implementation strategies as required in coordination with the Legal Department.
| | Skills, Knowledge and Abilities - 4-year BS degree in Engineering, Construction Management or Project Management; Master’s in Business Management, Construction Management or Project Management preferred
- 15+ years’ experience in the project management and/or construction management of large multi-discipline complex projects in the field of power generation and environmental air quality control systems for coal fired power plants.
- Experience in Selective Catalytic Systems project/construction management preferred.
- Proficiency in the use of Word, Excel, and knowledge of Primavera P-6 Scheduling
- Knowledge of CostPoint a plus
- Project Management Professional (PMP)
- Professional Engineer (PE) certification preferred
