Senior Project Manager – Nuclear Plant Technology

The Position:
The Senior Project Manager will provide engineering (mechanical) project management for Nuclear Maintenance Application Center (NMAC) projects, provide input the NMAC research and development plans, lead and participate in visits to member plant sites and provide assistance to members when requested.
This position provides an opportunity for an experienced engineer to contribute to the improvement of the maintenance activities of nuclear power plants worldwide through innovative research and development. This position offers the opportunity to make a difference.
Job Functions:
- Develop, present and solicit input on research strategies and plans to EPRI technical committees, and broad members of the stakeholder community including but not limited to utilities, INPO, NEI, NRC and others as required.
- Communicate project and research strategies and results, written and verbal, to EPRI team members, to EPRI membership and to other global stakeholders through presentations, guidelines, reports, meetings, webcasts, workshops, hotline responses, and conferences.
- Manage multiple research projects independently and effectively to achieve high technical value to member utilities and the public.
- Organize and lead international technical meetings and workshops.
- Lead and participate in visits to member nuclear plant sites world wide.
- Publish and present technical papers in areas of expertise.
- Assure that all projects are completed on time and within budget.
- Maintain technical expertise, develop national and international technical networks with consultants, academia and research organizations.
Ideal Candidate:
- Articulate with impeccably clear and concise verbal and written communication skills.
- Demonstrates proven technical capability in the area of mechanical maintenance.
- Experience as a manager or supervisor in maintenance, engineering or operating organizations a plus.
- Able to work in a collaborative environment with diverse personnel and to resolve conflicts and achieve consensus.
- Able to travel at least 25% of the time, including travel abroad.
- Demonstrates outstanding problem solving and analytical skills.
- Can effectively multitask, coordinate and facilitate technical engineering-related communications with peers and clients, and apply scientific and engineering principles, theories, and concepts.
- Able to prepare, analyze, and manage budgets for project tasks.
- Professional registration, reactor operators license and other certifications a plus.
- Knowledgeable of information sources in the utility industry including how to retrieve and use technical information (INPO OE and equipment data such as EPIX, NRC information, etc.)
Education Level and Years of Experience:
- Advanced Degree preferred
- 10+ years direct experience in nuclear power plant engineering, operations, and maintenance
