Job Title:        SENIOR PROPERTY ACCOUNTANT

Reports to:     Accounting Manager

 

Job Description:

 

Essential duties and responsibilities include the following.  Other duties may be

assigned.

·        Record description, location, and other pertinent information on each property.

·        Design and implement record keeping system to manage all necessary data.

·        Distribute cost of maintenance to proper accounts

·        Examine records to determine that acquisition, rental and other entries been made.

·        Prepare statements reflecting monthly appreciated and depreciated values.

·        Perform all month end functions, including accruals, CAM reconciliation.

·        Oversee A/P and A/R functions.

·        Prepare schedules for amortization of property and equipment.

·        Develop and recommend property accounting methods to provide effective controls.

·        Ability to read, analyze and interpret lease-management agreements.

·        Perform statistical analyses to determine estimates and changes, and write narrative reports explaining findings.

·        Analyze financial information detailing assets, liabilities, and capital and prepares balance sheets, profit and loss statement, and other reports to summarize and interpret current and projected company financial status.

·        Work effectively with co-workers, customers and others by sharing ideas in a constructive and positive manner; listening to and objectively considering ideas and suggestions from others; keeping commitments, keeping others informed of work progress, timetables and issues; addressing problems and issues constructively to find mutually acceptable and practical business solutions; addressing others by name, actions, words and deeds.

Education/Experience: Bachelor’s degree (or equivalent) in accounting and finance. Required 3-5 years of real estate industry experience.

 

 

Other Skills, Computer, Language, Professional Certificate:    Proficient in Excel and Word.  You must have knowledge in accounting software-application.  Knowledge of Timberline accounting software is preferred.
