Thomson Reuters has one of the largest property tax services organizations in the nation.  We have a need for a Property Tax Associate in our Carrollton, TX office.  In this exciting position you will provide support  to Property Tax Consultants in the maintenance of AtlasTax property record system, filing and tracking of assessment appeals, and overall account management (contracts, billing, reporting, etc.).  
 
The Senior Property Tax Associate is responsible for, but not limited to the following:
  • Enters client and assessor data into proprietary software systems.

  • Using information from the software systems (AtlasTax, CorpTax, eProperty Tax, and Pacer) generates client reports, such as accrual/budget reports and tax bill logs for internal and external use. Researches potential tax liability of new acquisitions for clients.  Creates custom tax technicalclient reports on an as needed basis.

  • Possesses working knowledge of the property tax statutesof  thousands of property tax jurisdictions throughout the country, to include, but not limited to:
    o        Filing, Appeal, and Statutory deadlines
    o        Assessment requirements
    o        Payment dates
    o        Ratios of assessment
    o        Tax Rates
    o        Statutory regulations of filing of appeal applications for client property values
    o        Authorization of agency requirements
    o        Abatement and exemption requirements

  • Trains new peers on entry of data from each taxing jurisdiction and client into the proprietary software systems.

  • Creates presentations to support consultants in their advocacy consulting for clients to appraisal review boards.  Uses persistence in meeting deadlines and gathering documentation for presentation.  Date analysis and monitoring is one of the most important aspects.



  • The preferred candidate for this position will have an associates degree with 2 to 3 years      

  • Requires knowledge of property tax jurisdictions throughout the country to insure accuracy in the set-up of the client's data used for value filing and value negotiations.   

  • Requires understanding of  how the data is entered into the software systems, as system reports have an effect on client's tax liability.   Demonstrates a knowledge of Excel and Word, some exposure to Access.

  • Needs exceptional communication (oral and written) skills, with attention to accuracy and detail.  Able to read and interpret written information and specialized documentation.
