Senior QA / Senior Tester / Engineer – XML, XSLT, Unix, Quality Center, Mercury

About the Job

The incumbent will create, review and execute test cases that ensure ABS software systems perform according to the business requirements. Specific experience in some or all of the following (Uniform Residential Appraisal Report (Form 1004), authentication testing, test automation, and testing web based software applications is a plus.


 


Responsibilities:  




  • Analyze requirements, plan and prepare test data.


  • Design, write and implement testing scripts, test tools, SQL queries, and test drivers for a UNIX and/or web-based collateral data delivery system.


  • Create test data using XML and Adobe Acrobat.


  • Create, review, validate and maintains a comprehensive regression test suite.


  • Ensure that test case standards are adhered to for all test cases included in regression suite.


  • Executes regression suite, reporting results and issues in a timely and accurate manner.


  • Maintain awareness of new software testing tools and trends within the software testing industry.


  • Report and track problems by providing reproducible test cases, and working with other product team members to close problem reports.


  • Provide the test lead with accurate estimated LOE for updating the regression suite and executing test cases.


  • Conduct root cause analysis of identified defects, providing development/business partners with sufficient detail to understand, replicate and resolve.

 


Requirements:




  • 5-7 years of hands on software testing experience.


  • 3 years of demonstrated experience with Mercury Interactive application testing suite of products (TestDirector, Loadrunner, Winrunner, QuickTest, etc.).


  • The Test Engineer should have a BS in Computer Science, Engineering, or Mathematics.


  • Must be proficient in UNIX, have the knowledge of writing shell scripts.


  • Must have strong XML generation and manipulation skills. Proficient in understanding XSLT.


  • Must have a solid understanding of the SDLC, configuration management, and release cycles.

 


Preferences:




  • Strong logic and analytical skills.


  • Attention to detail is critical for this role.


  • Should be familiar with current software testing methodologies to include risk based, boundary, black box and white box testing.


  • Demonstrates knowledge of some or all of the following: Java (J2EE), C, C++, shell programming, Web Logic and with RDBMS such as Sybase, Oracle, MS SQL and MySQL, Test Director, Quality Center, XML Spy, Adobe Acrobat and Clear Quest.


  • Must be well versed in advanced TSL, function libraries, data driven test, and validation techniques.


  • Mercury Certification.


  • ASQ or QAI Certification.
