Job Responsibilities

The Senior QA Engineer will perform hands-on quality assurance activities while working with a small local test team.  This encompasses the development of test plans based on use cases, the execution of the test plans and the creation/adoption of processes/ procedures to enhance the product quality.  The Senior QA Engineer will also work closely with the senior management team to ensure product performance meets the needs of the marketplace.  He or she will develop and enforce a governance strategy which establishes and/or incorporates pragmatic standards and policies, allowing for a controlled evolution of technological capabilities that addresses market needs, while minimizing operational risk.  The Senior QA Engineer will also work closely with our India test team to deliver an overall quality product. 

·         Lead a small team of test personnel in all aspects of quality assurance for EMS products.

·         Review use cases and create test plans to address completeness and reliability of system features / functions and schedules.

·         Coordinate test planning, manual testing and automated testing, according to project deliverables.

·         Develop, maintain, and execute tests.  Maintain complete, detailed test results data.

·         Generate and publish test reports indicating test scripts passed, failed, not run. Additionally it must include # defects created as a result of the testing and other relevant metrics associated with quality compliance.

·         Work with development and client support to ensure the process of providing quality to our clients is maintained.

·         Support the software engineering team by performing a basic level of root cause analysis on any performance bottlenecks identified in the course of testing.

·         Conduct quality testing of hardware, software, user interfaces, documentation and data validation.

·         Continually build knowledge and proficiency in testing methodologies.

·         Must be able to handle multiple concurrent projects.

·         Ability to be flexible, follow tight deadlines, organize, and prioritize work.

·         Bring Quality Processes and procedures to the product lifecycle.

Skills and Education

·         Engineering or Computer Science Degree.

·         Strong analytical thinking and problem solving skills.

·         Experience with Microsoft operating environments, SQL Server, SourceSafe and MS Office applications

·         Minimum four to seven years experience in SQA.

·         Experience with QTP (Quick Test Professional) preferred.

·         Excellent communication skills.

·         Strong team building skills.

·         Outsourcing / off-shoring teaming exposure a plus.

·         Excellent understanding of global infrastructure workings (networking, security, application performance, deployment).
