Senior Quality Assurance Engineer-Web/Java Tools

Military Advantage, a division on Monster Worldwide, Inc, is looking for a talented Senior Quality Assurance Engineer who has strong Java tools/web development experience.


You are a dedicated, driven individual, unsatisfied with the status quo - things can always be done better. Instead of repeating the same task over and over, you would rather find and modify (or write) a tool to run the task, log the data, and generate a report that’s waiting in your inbox when you come in the next day.
You have tested web applications in various environments.  Testing is in your blood, but you are a problem solver, not just a tester.   We need a key individual who has a firm grasp of Software Quality Assurance fundamentals. We are an established web company working with a variety of applications from content to community. We are rapidly moving to a more structured development and production environment and need more experienced hands at the QA. We need good quality practices defined and documented.

Job Responsibilities:

• Participate in complete software development life cycle, with a focus on test case refinement, testing automation configuration, and component/system integration.
• Consult with software development team to assess product testability, unit test quality.
• Interact with other cross-functioning teams within the company.
• Quickly learn new technologies and evaluate their test applicability.
• Report and manage bugs that are reported by team members.
• Utilize test framework to leverage functional, performance and monitoring tests.
• Be an advocate for the quality process.
• Create and follow test plan schedules.
• Review and analyze and report on test results to assess performance issues and identify trends.
• Review product documentation and write test plans and test cases ensuring adequate testing coverage.
• Maintain and enhance QA related tools - bug tracking, project management, test framework.
• Other duties as assigned by supervisor.

 

Job Requirements:

• Expertise in software quality assurance practices.
• Extensive experience with web testing tools - Selenium, winrunner, Silk, etc.
• Familiarity with Java technologies such as Servlets, JSF, web services and experience with at least one J2EE Application Server Environment (e.g., Weblogic, WebSphere, Resin, Tomcat).
• Proven ability to quickly troubleshoot and debug, especially in a multithreaded environment.
• Experience with web load testing - Load Runner, JMeter.
• Outstanding organizational, interpersonal and both written and verbal communication skills.
• Experience working in UNIX environments.
• Experience with JUnit, TestNG and Cargo
• Requirements management (DOORS, SilkCentral)
• Experience administering Virtual Machines (Xen, VMWare)
• Understanding of networking protocols, including TCP/IP and HTTP
• Bachelors degree in engineering discipline or 5 years equivalent career experience
