Senior Quality Assurance Engineering Manager-Aerospace

If you have success with communicating and coordinating efforts to ensure all members of your cross functional teams understand all the requirements. You have a proven success managing work flow of assigned tasks and to guide technical decisions in a quality assurance group.

Aerospace Structures group works with NASA, Military and large commercial companies on exciting composite structures.

As a Senior Quality Assurance Engineering Manageryouwill be responsible for leading the Mission Assurance organization in all phases of production support.Provide Quality management on existing heritage programs and over new and transition programs from other facilities into Iuka to ensure customer requirements are met or exceeded.Development / enhancement of Quality systems to ensure facility wide quality performance requirements are met.

Quality Assurance
Ensure strong investigation tools and processes are used to obtain true root cause.Provide training to all groups in regards to Quality tools and their use when performing root cause investigation and analysis.Will oversee the creation and maintenance of program specific inspection plans.Will interface with the customer on Quality issues.

Leadership / Management:
Will provide leadership to the Mission Assurance department and the facility.This employee will also have management responsibility for Environmental Safety and Security at the Iuka facility.

Systems / Process:
Responsible for first article inspection, shipping inspection, and in-process inspection
Responsible for internal audits, first article inspection, receiving and shipping inspection, in-process inspection, Material Review Board, and internal procedures. Responsibilities also included program management, staffing, personnel files, job assignments, scheduling, Performance reviews, and Goals for the department, and Organizational Designated Airworthiness Representative (ODAR)

Requirements:


15 years Quality Assurance experience in the aerospace industry Ability to effectively lead a medium sized group of Quality Engineers and Technicians with diverse backgrounds.


Working knowledge of ultrasonic techniques and methods.


Ability to manage departmental direct and indirect budget and define daily work flows.


Ability to guide technical decisions in quality assurance.


Knowledge of ISO9001/AS9100. Experience with NADCAP special processes helpful.


Ability to work in cross-functional teams.


Understanding of production processing of aerospace components.


Demonstrated ability to develop and implement quality systems including PFEMCA, Auditing, SPC, and others.


Proven experience in the aircraft and launch industries is a plus.


Experience in transitioning development programs to production.


Must have demonstrated experience in the management of Safety, Security, and Environmental functions.


Other Desirable Requirements:


Prefer experience with composites production


Customer relationship experience, strong people skills (negotiation, presentations, cross department team building)


Lean Six Sigma Green or Black Belt experience


ASQ Certifications - CQM, CQE, CQA.
