Description

We're looking for an experienced network and systems Administrator
for our computer software development and test lab.  The lab supports local and remote engineering
teams with hardware and software resources to develop and test enterprise class
software.  While the infrastructure needs
to be stable, the actual lab computer systems need to be maintained within a
flexible framework to support quick reconfiguration and reassignment based on
engineering project needs.

Responsibilities and Requirements

Hardware and software installation and
configuration

·        
Perform system administration, network and
infrastructure administration tasks as needed

·        
Provide end-user support to quality assurance
engineers, software engineers, and others

·        
Advanced hardware and software troubleshooting
skills

·        
Ensure timely and accurate task and project
communication with all stakeholders.

·        
Enhance and maintain lab practices and
procedures to ensure a stable infrastructure while enhancing lab equipment
flexibility and utilization

·        
Perform upgrades to existing software and
hardware to enhance infrastructure reliability while the lab continues to grow

Qualifications

·        
Bachelor's degree in Software Engineering,
Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, IT Management, related field, or
equivalent experience

·        
System Administration experience on three or
more of the following computer platforms: Microsoft Windows, Linux, Sun
Solaris, HP-UX, IBM AIX, IBM i5/OS, VMware ESX

·        
System Administration experience with the
following:  Active-Directory, DHCP, DNS,
LDAP, NAS, NFS, NIS, RAID, SAN, system backup and restore

·        
Experience administering a 500+ node network

·        
Network device administration experience with
Cisco and Dell network devices

·        
Experienced using scripting languages such as
shell and PERL

·        
Experience in a fast-paced, rapidly changing
environment

·        
Excellent verbal and written communication
skills

·        
Experience administering VMware ESX and Virtual
Center
