Job Title: -- Senior Risk Manager

Job Summary: -- This position supports the Risk Management Department in directing the worldwide Risk Management Property and Casualty insurance programs and directing training and support services for operating companies.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities: --

  • Manage selected, and assist in other, Property / Casualty insurance program placements, renewals and audits, including but not limited to risk and coverage analysis, compilation of exposure summaries, development and production of submissions, review of proposals for optimal terms, conditions and pricing, negotiation of terms, and review / analysis of related claim information. Includes making recommendations to Director.

  • Manage risk management program documentation to protect the Company against unexpected/uninsured risks. This includes (1) proper and timely receipt of insurance policies, endorsements, binders, coverage confirmations and other policy documents, (2) maintenance of policy file management systems and all insurance schedules (3) analysis of documents to assure accuracy and appropriateness of coverage and (4) providing prompt notification and recommendation to Director.

  • Cash flow and accounting process management, including (1) managing department payables and receivables in an effective and timely manner, (2) developing budgets and assisting department management in projecting annual risk costs (3) forecasting monthly risk cash flow and (4) quarterly Risk Reserve Analysis process.

  • Perform analysis and compile annual, monthly and ad hoc financial and/or risk reports for Director and others as required and assist in various assigned projects such as internal/external audits, business partner performance evaluations, etc.

  • Evaluate and negotiate certain business partner agreement/document terms and provide assistance to Director and/or other appropriate management regarding the negotiation of other business partner agreements/ documents to assure best available terms and conditions for Company.

  • Perform contract review of insurance provisions as assigned by Director.

  • Review stand-alone insurance program deductible/retrospective billings for subsidiary stand-alone programs, where applicable.

  • Assist with acquisition due diligence to identify and analyze significant risk management issues and assist with subsequent integration of acquired companies.

  • Create relevant and update current Risk Management procedures for internal Risk Management Policies Manual.

  • Develop and assist with development of other training materials.

  • Manage and perform selected training for subsidiaries, department, internal EMCOR and business partners.

  • Conduct insurance market research and monitor insurance insurers’ ratings as required for financial strength and solvency and advise Director of rating declines. Assist with resolving resultant issues.

  • Identify and analyze factors with the potential for causing financial and operational loss, and recommend risk management solutions, including financing and alternative risk coverage methods.

  • Interface effectively with EMCOR, its business partners (insurers, brokers, TPAs, administrators, etc.), and others to develop and implement risk management processes and solutions and achieve results.

  • Identify and implement, with department management agreement, improvements to increase individual job and department effectiveness.

  • Perform all other assignments and projects as requested by Company.

Qualifications: --

  • Bachelor’s degree in Risk Management and/or Finance or related field required.

  • Minimum 5-10 years of experience in Risk Management or insurance brokering of commercial property and casualty risk programs.

  • Construction Risk Management Specialist (CRIS), Associate in Risk Management (ARM) and/or Certified Property Casualty Underwriter (CPCU) certification desired.

  • Strong financial and accounting technical skills required; construction related experience preferred.

  • Excellent communication, people, service-oriented skills and strong team focus.

  • Ability to take initiative, be proactive and work efficiently without supervision.

  • Strong ability to discern appropriate priorities and handle multiple priorities effectively/efficiently.

  • Robust computer skills, including knowledge of Excel, Lotus Notes, Adobe, Word, PowerPoint, and ability to learn new software with ease required.
