Job Responsibilities/Department description:
The Senior Sales Analyst will leverage their business experience and technical skills to provide sales planning and analytic support at the division, region and territory levels for business units within Genzyme Biosurgery. The primary objective of this role is to work with Sales and Commercial Operations teams to provide actionable analytic insight regarding the effectiveness of sales initiatives and the performance of the field sales organization.
Specific Responsibilities:
Leverage available tools and data sources to:
o Identify sales opportunities and risks within sales geographies and key accounts
o Analyze the effectiveness of existing and proposed Sales initiatives
o Create actionable analytics regarding sales performance by geography
o Create and manage queries and models to generate ongoing territory and key account analysis
o Develop and oversee tools and technologies to aid the sales force in forecasting, territory management and revenue optimization
o Identify most successful field and inside sales force selling tactics and strategies; define and communicate best practices so they may be leveraged more broadly amongst the sales force
o Develop and maintain relevant field and senior management sales reports
o Evaluate ROI for strategic commercial initiatives and pilots
Work with the Sales Training and Commercial Operations teams to:
o Develop and deliver training on the use and applicability of sales reports and business management tools
o Communicate findings to all levels of the Sales management and field sales team as appropriate
o Manage special projects and ad hoc sales analytic requests made by sales management, including preparation and presentation of analysis
o Assist in the development and roll out of sales quotas, incentive compensation plans, and forecasts for the sales team
Establish rapport and working relationships with sales managers and sales representatives
Assist in the implementation of data governance policies as established by Commercial Operations team
Basic Qualifications:
Bachelor's Degree and 1 year experience in a sales operations or financial analyst role
2 years experience with reporting solutions such as Cognos, Business Objects, PowerBuilder
2 years advanced experience with MS Excel and MS Access
Ability to communicate effectively with individuals at all levels of the organization
Preferred Qualifications:
Cognos 8.x report development experience strongly preferred
Field sales experience a plus
Strong analytical capabilities
Familiarity in working with complex data sets
Familiarity with pharmaceutical industry third-party data (e.g. IMS or Wolters Kluwer) a plus
Ability to communicate effectively with individuals at all levels of the organization
