Senior Sales Manager for LEGO Universe

About the Job

Are you ready to market LEGO Universe – a massively multiplayer online game – in the U.S., UK and Germany? If so, join the Product & Marketing team as Senior Sales Manager. You will be responsible for the public relations and marketing of LEGO Universe - the biggest online experience in the LEGO Group’s history that will be launched in 2010. The position is based in either the LEGO Group headquarters in Billund, Denmark or at our regional office in Denver, Colorado. 50-60 travel days a year should be expected.

Plan the marketing of LEGO Universe in the U.S., UK and Germany.

Your goal is to ensure that LEGO Universe holds a strong position in the gaming market targeted at children aged 8-12. You will work on the American, German and UK markets and for each market, you will analyse competitors, develop the sales strategy, set sales targets and forecast sales.

Further, you will be responsible for identifying potential customers and building a network within the retail business. In the long term, you will manage external partners and distributors to ensure that marketing and public relations measures are being implemented. Moreover, you will monitor distributors and partners and track results. You will maintain a broad contact base and will cooperate with our external game developer and the LEGO organisation with the potential of having worldwide responsibility down the line.

Sales channel understanding and a passion for games

Most importantly, you have a passion for online games combined with an in-depth understanding of multiple sales channels from the retail business, e.g. a toy chain. Ideally, you have experience in the gaming industry and with sales targeted at children. You hold a bachelor’s degree in business administration or comparable and have knowledge of the gaming industry, e.g. structure, customers and mechanisms.

With your excellent communication skills in English and preferably also in German, you enjoy interacting with colleagues and business partners internationally. Finally, you are interested in a position that includes international travel.
