The primary role of the the Senior SCADA Engineer is to develop new and modify existing SCADA applications programs, applets, and scripts using c, c#, VB, and Perl code in MS Windows Server and UNIX environments. This position is also responsible for management of detailed integration, testing, code promotion, and cut-over activities according to written IT Department policy and procedure. Other duties will include:
Utililizing individual SCADA technology and computer programming skills to support Control Center operations while minimizing interruption to SCADA and applications systems.
Coordinating project activities which include planning, design, development, installation, testing, and commissioning of SCADA related hardware and software systems in a high availability environment. Developing user access security procedures for SCADA and application systems. Defining interface requirements between SCADA applications and other real-time, on-line, and batch application processes throughout the company. Provide planning and support for regular end-to-end audit and verification of SCADA point functionality, alarms, system performance, and security. Act as primary technical contact with SCADA and core applications vendors and internal technology departments.
Participate in the design, development and administration of SCADA and applications software standards and documentation. Follow all IT policies and procedures in an environment of continuous technical improvements, changes, and upgrades.
Performs other assignments as necessary to implement departmental goals. |
Bachelor's degree in an Engineering or physical science discipline. Equivalent experience will be considered. 5 years experience in specification, development, implementation, and maintenance of SCADA related applications and database. Experience with hardware configuration, systems tuning, application development, and documentation. Other skills should include: -SCADA knowledge in a pipeline environment /utilities/power -SCADA communications knowledge -RTU, PLC, Instrumentation and control knowledge -Understanding of the pipeline/power/utilities industries strongly preferred -Computer skills (MS Office, Company software) Salary based on Experience. |
