We are currently seeking a Lead Scientist in our Product Development Department at our Morgantown, WV location.

The candidate selected for this exciting and challenging role will be responsible for developing new formulations and optimize their processes for scale-up and production.  Improve existing formulations in Production.

Duties may include but are not limited to:

Design formulations and processes for new products

Manufacture development, optimization and scale-up batches

Troubleshoot any problems that occur during scale-ups or in Production

Evaluate product testing results and finalize product formulation and processes

Report project status (development plans, time lines) to supervisor

The qualified candidate must demonstrate comprehensive understanding of solid oral dosage form development, process optimization and scale-up and the pharmacokinetics of drugs.  Working knowledge of cGMPs, Standard Operating Procedures, FDA regulations and safety is required.

Applicants must possess strong writing, communication, comprehension, interpretation, problem solving, team, critical thinking, and organization skills.  Must possess the ability to use creativity to solve formulation problems and make sound decisions in manufacturing situations.  Excellent technical computer skills required. 

Minimum of a BS degree in Pharmaceutics, Engineering or related scientific field plus a minimum  of 5 years experience working in the Pharmaceutical Industry in Product Development required, experience with generic drug development preferred.     However, a combination of experience and/or education will be taken into consideration.
