Senior Scientist, Multiplex IF/IHC

About the Job


We are seeking a highly motivated Senior Scientist to drive tissue analysis using state-of-the-art immunohistochemistry and multiplex IF technologies to better understand immune and tumor microenvironment. The candidate will be part of a larger inter-disciplinary team that focuses on target discovery, validation and biomarker research in immune-oncology. The candidate should have the ability to work independently and come up with quick, robust and creative solutions to various research goals.


  • Hands-on IHC single and multiplex assay development and staining, both manual and automated, on pre-clinical, non-clinical and clinical samples
  • Imaging and analysis of tissue sections using automated microscopy, and manual and automated image analysis
  • Execute developed experimental protocols and spearhead novel multiplex IF technologies to address specific biological questions and identify predictive biomarkers in support of clinical pipeline



  • MS or PhD required.
  • At least 5 years of dedicated experience (as part of the PhD thesis or other similar experience, or MS with 7 years of microscopy experience) such as confocal/multiphoton microscopy, super-resolution microscopy, light-sheet microscopy, live imaging.
  • The qualified candidate will have the ability to apply a wide range of imaging and image analysis techniques in biological systems, including cell and tissue samples, preferably human tissues
  • Experience in the application of biomarkers towards oncology and immuno-oncology drug development is preferred
  • Ability to work effectively collaborate with multi-disciplinary teams focused on answering key biological questions
  • Excellent communication skills (oral and written) as demonstrated by publications & presentations
  • Ability to multi-task and prioritize projects required
  • Ability to drive projects with minimal supervision and work independently


  • Extensive knowledge in histopathological techniques, including tissue sample preparation, special stains, and collecting images with IHC and IF (minimum 4 fluorescent dyes) staining is required
  • Experience in image processing and analysis using existing software packages (such as Halo, Definiens, ImageJ), ideally with ability to implement custom image analysis pipelines
  • The ability to troubleshoot and find quick, robust solutions for histotechnological and immunofluorescence challenges
  • Ability to identify biological problems that can be efficiently addressed through multiplex imaging technologies
  • First authorship manuscripts that demonstrate the application of imaging technologies in high impact journals
  • Provide direction to deliver upon short term goals while driving innovative approaches that shape future strategies
