Currently we are looking for a Senior Segment Manager. This position identifies, plans and executes the plan for the GIS Enterprise and Government segments, including the go-to-market strategy and tactics for marketing programs targeting VARS, end users, channels, and consumers in support of our segment partners. The Senior Segment Manager must possess the ability to clearly articulate the plan to Sales and Executive organizations, to seek consensus and to drive execution. This position requires established business relationships with Tele Atlas Sales personnel and key customer stakeholders. Strategic thinking, tactical execution and the ability to manage people are required skill sets.
Specific Duties and Responsibilities:
· Develop and communicate to Sales and Executive organizations a coherent and comprehensive segment marketing plan for the applicable market segment targeting consumers and/or business customers. The Senior Segment Manager will identify the go-to-market strategy upon which the segment plan is based, and drive its execution.
· Create conditions to increase the brand awareness and brand recognition of Tele Atlas, its products and partners, across all available media (i.e. POS, PR, advertising).
· Manage expectations and contracted deliverables for the marketing aspects of major contracts.
· Establish credibility as a leader to the Tele Atlas sales organization and to the customer’s senior management team.
· Act as the bridge and Tele Atlas single point of contact between customers and Tele Atlas for marketing/channel-oriented initiatives and customer requirements.
· Drive communications and performance of the various Tele Atlas entities to meet negotiated customer marketing deliverables.
· Interface and coordinate with Tele Atlas’s senior management and operations subject-matter experts (engineering, product development, and other departments) regarding assurances in contracts and proposals.
· Works closely with the Tele Atlas sales account manager, anticipating problems and identifying revenue opportunities to expand the Tele Atlas relationship consistent with our market offers and strategies.
· Participate with the sales team as a product/channel subject-matter expert during the solution development and contract negotiating stages to assure Tele Atlas commitments and customer expectations are aligned and risks are identified.
· Prepare for and participate in client presentations.
Required Skills:
· BS in marketing or a related field, or the equivalent; MBA preferred
· Preferred experience for this position: At least 5 years of industry experience, preferably working with GIS Enterprise and Government markets.
· Proven experience in developing solutions to complex problems.
· Ability to use excellent judgment and exercise tact in developing relationships with major customers.
· Thorough knowledge of Tele Atlas’s market and offers.
· Ability to balance Tele Atlas’s vision vis-à-vis business and financial objectives.
· Combination of technical, financial, and project management acumen.
· Excellent computer skills and thorough knowledge of project planning, management, and tracking tools.
· Able to travel as needed to customer sites.
