Stellar Science is a growing Albuquerque-based scientific software development company seeking talented software developers to create and extend engineering applications for the analysis of space systems, aircraft, and missiles. We conduct research and develop interactive software in the fields of computer vision, image enhancement, three-dimensional visualization, computational electromagnetics, scene simulation, and thermal modeling.

• Design and implement advanced graphical user interfaces for scientific & analytical applications
• Mentor other developers on C++ best practices
• Apply object-oriented software design and implementation approaches to solving complex problems
• Monitor software development trends
• Introduce new techniques to the development team

Education and experience:

• B.S. in computer science or engineering (required)
• M.S. or Ph.D. in computer science or engineering (preferred)
• Utilization of STL & Boost C++ class libraries (required)
• C++ template metaprogramming (required)
• Advanced object-oriented software design
• Large-scale application development
• User interface design and implementation with the Qt library

• Be top-notch, responsible, self-motivated, honest, able to work well independently and in small teams

• Have strong professional recommendations

• Be able to rapidly learn new languages, tools, and techniques as needed to meet mission requirements

• Be U.S. citizens & consent to a background investigation to obtain a security clearance

• Be willing to relocate to Albuquerque to occasionally work at Kirtland Air Force Base
