We are currently seeking a Senior Software Engineer for our corporate headquarters in Eugene, Oregon.

Responsibilities will include:

* Designs new software products and/or processes of high complexity and designs changes in existing products maintaining an awareness of product requirements.  Leads and/or assists in producing new approaches to software and system design. 

* Leads or participates on cross-functional teams in product development or significant product modification activities.  Participates in structures product development activities such as technical design reviews, cross-functional team meeetings, and project gate events.

* Establishes and maintains methods for software change control and software configuration management sufficient for the complexity of our products and the size of our software design organization.

* Provides technical leadership through staying abreast of technology and industry trends, identifying multiple solutions to design goals, educating management on technologies and making recommendations to avoid obsolescence, supply chain and quality issues.

* Provides technical support and training to our customers, marketing/sales staff, manufacturing and repair services disciplines when required.

The successful candidate will possess:

Required:

* BS in Computer Science

* 8+ years of software engineering experience

* Experience on projects developed to DO-178B Level C or higher

* Experience in developing robust software architectures

* Experience taking a project from concept to completion, including design, prototyping, testing and troubleshooting

* Ability to develop low-level software requirements from high-level system requirements

* Knowledge of operating systems - Windows XP embedded and Windows Vista

* Strong knowledge of C/C++

* Knowledge of aircraft data protocols such as ARINC 429, RS-485, RS-232

* Experience with RGB, DVI, Composite, Component, video interfaces

* Strong inter-personal and communications skills

* Ability to work in a small team environment

* Firmware development and debugging

* Familiarity with version control and configuration management systems

Desired:

* Experience developing user interfaces

* Knowledge of MapPoint API

* Linux knowledge

* General aircraft knowledge

* Blu-ray knowledge
