This candidate needs to be proactive, independent, and quickly come up to speed on new tasks. He or she must be capable of taking a problem definition, interacting with users to refine requirements, proposing and then implementing the solution using appropriate technologies. Good problem solving and communication skills are key in this role as the developer will be involved in collecting and documenting the requirements as well as taking initiatives in identifying opportunities to improve overall company efficiency.
Projects that the Sr. Software Engineer will be building are:
- Web-based application to manage multiple instances of our product
- Support our growing list of SaaS customers through automation of administration activities
- Integration and expansion of third-party tools for issue tracking and version control
- Automation of tasks to improve productivity of our Software Development, QA, and Professional Services teams

Job Requirements:
MANDATORY SKILLS
- Experience with at least one of PHP or Perl - At least 3 years of experience with best practices in designing tools/applications for user-friendliness, maintainability, and reusability
- Design experience with medium- to large-scale projects
- Experience with at least one of the following: MySQL, PostgreSQL, MS-SQL, Oracle
- HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and web security practices
- Basic administration and shell scripting for Linux and Windows
OTHER DESIRED SKILLS
- Basic understanding of Java programming
- Experience with Apache
- Ruby or Python
- Source control, particularly Perforce
- Exposure to formal code review process
- Experience in optimizing software performance issues
