Senior Software Engineer- Search Engineer

Trovix is a search technology company looking for an exceptional Senior Software Engineer/Technical Leader who has experience working with search applications. This is a great opportunity to work on our highly scalable and high performance core search technology. Monster recently acquired Trovix and will be extensively utilizing our search technology in future products. This is a key in the development process for creating the best possible search products at Monster. This is a key role, hands-on player in designing and implementing large-scale, distributed software systems that use machine learning and natural language processing for our innovative search technology.

We are looking for a self-motivated, creative problem solver with a passion for excellence and a capacity for technical leadership. The candidate must be a strong team player who genuinely enjoys working with people and who contributes to a fun, high energy environment.

Qualifications:

4 + years Java Development using a range of Java technologies at an expert level or is an expert in C++ with strong Java skills
Possess both a solid academic background and a strong practical background
2+ years of experience developing search algorithms and technologies
Evidence of the ability to do original thinking – writing papers, contributing to patents, acting as a principal investigator on research work, acting as a principle software engineer on a major commercial effort, and the like
Algorithm/data structure design and analysis
Persistent data structure design and data caching
Fine grain concurrency control
High-performance, large scale distributed systems
Data mining, natural language processing and knowledge discovery
Engineering process, design and testing methodologies
Has experience in web, vertical or enterprise search
Has significant experience in search, information retrieval, machine learning or text and language analysis
Is comfortable taking on tough problems and seeing them through to completion
Has a strong attention-to-detail orientation
Is efficient in planning and organization
Is at ease working both in a fast-paced startup environment as well as in a more process-driven big company atmosphere
Has strong written and verbal communication skills
Advanced degree in computer science or equivalent industry experience
