Senior Software Engineer – Client Services Technical Support

We are looking for a Senior Software Engineer as technical support to our licensed or outsourced products. POSITION PURPOSE: Reporting to the Director of Client Services and as part of a team, provides technical support to clients by resolving software issues and delivering a solution.

Responsibilities:
Under limited direction, provides first level technical support for clients working closely with customer support business analysts.
Under limited direction analyzes, researches, and identifies issues with software solutions to support clients’ needs. May assist with design or coding of software solutions.
Rotates secondary client support during nights and weekend.
Under limited direction escalates complex issues to the second level support teams and works closely with them to reach resolution .
Under limited direction evaluates specifications for application enhancements for compatibility with clients’ systems.
Under limited direction, assists in the identification, evaluation, tailoring of vendor-supplied software packages.
Under limited direction, prepares documentation for use by computer operations, applications programming, and user personnel.
Under limited direction, provides technical assistance and information to other systems software, computer operations, applications programming, and data communications personnel at all centers with this environment.
Under limited direction, reviews new designs, enhancements and programs with systems analysts and applications programming personnel for operating efficiencies.
Under limited direction, assists in design, coding, and of data base management systems.
Completes other duties as assigned.

Position Requirements:
A Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science or equivalent education in a related discipline is required. Related work experience can be substituted for educational requirement.

Job Related Experience: Five yrs programming and/or analyst or related experience with an excellent knowledge of RPGIV language. Ability to interact well with clients, as well as, team members for the purpose of data gathering and problem resolution. An excellent knowledge of how the pieces of a program fit together for the purpose of meeting the requirements of an application. Experience with source code control systems and processes. Strong writing skills along with strong knowledge of documenting program design, coding, and maintenance.
