Senior Software Engineer - User Interface

Exercise knowledge of technical skills and understanding of product functionality, operations and dynamics of the company's environment to take an effective role in a specific technical area. Responsible for product quality, completeness of scope, soundness of technical judgment and comprehensiveness of verification/validation activities.Anticipate and identify key issues and make recommendations for resolution. Consider impacts with other system components and/or users. Interaction with peers and mentors on the individual's projects is generally in the context of peer meeting to solicit input for completeness and confirm the rationale for project direction and specific design decisions as well as peer review of verification/validation activities. Identify, coordinate or raise issues on non-technical aspects including quality systems, operations, customer impact, and business needs/objectives.

Core Job Responsibilities

* Specify, design, document, execute and validate new product software in areas of algorithm and data structures, application functionality, and user interface within the platform/architecture of focus
* Design and execute unit test procedures - verification and validation protocols for product software
* Gather relevant data and create system specifications to meet requirements of product specs and user needs.
* Create detailed design models to support system specifications
* Enter or update documentation into appropriate design control system.
Participate in design reviews for IVIS software products
* Drive the transfer to production of product software developed
* Represent data systems engineering on project teams including handling identification of data systems engineering impacts
* Provide timely and accurate communication of status to the team, project and technical leads.
* Follow all EHS rules and procedures for your department. Report any EHS incidents and/or Near Misses (unsafe acts and conditions) promptly to supervision. Attend all required training and medical surveillance programs. Wear all PPE as required. Forward any opportunities to improve the EHS program to supervision.

QUALIFICATIONS:

Basic Qualifications- Bachelor of Science / Engineering/ Computer Science or equivalent combination of education and 5+ years relevant experience

Experience:
Strong C#, C++ programming skills

Advanced skills in UI Interface development

Advanced skill in Windows programming techniques and concepts

Advanced skill in object oriented design and programming techniques

Experience with .NET and WPF (Windows Presentation Foundation), GUI design for desktop or web-based applications are a plus.

Experience with Silverlight.

Familiarity with all phases of software development from design to release of production systems.

Exposure to Code of Federal Regulations Good Manufacturing Practices, Quality System Regulations or other structured product development standards

Ability to work independently

Fluent in verbal and written English

Excellent verbal and written communication skills

Experience with the following would be highly value added:
* Database design and implementation * Internationalization.
* Parallel/multi-thread programming
*Experience in performing structured failure mode analysis or other engineering risk management process.
