Expedia is looking for a Senior Software Engineer in Test for the strategically critical Expedia Affiliate Network (EAN) technology team. As an SET on the EAN team, you will work closely with Dev and PM, and you will be able to influence early design decisions to ensure product quality. Together with your team members, you will be responsible for automation of tools and harness creation for our sophisticated features. The Senior Software Engineer in Test will drive quality improvements across the test organization, introduce and experiment with new testing methodologies, and mentor other members on the team.

Responsibilities:
• Primary responsibilities include working with Dev/PM/Test to design and plan our test automation strategy.      
• Design and code automated tests (functional and regression), run manual tests; report metrics and bugs, verify hot fixes to the live site, and more.
• Strong contribution to requirements gathering, specification reviews and dev design in the early stages of the project. 
• Identify opportunities for process, tools and test methodology improvements and drive those from concept to implementation.
• Mentor members of the team.

Requirements:
• Excellent understanding of testing, test methodologies and how test fits into the SDLC.
• Good understanding of object oriented programming with strong coding and debugging abilities.
• Proven ability to understand and translate functional requirements/specifications into working test plans and test cases for complex features.
• Strong knowledge of and experience writing test automation techniques and testing tools is required.
• Ability to develop, design and implement back-end automation.
• Ability to mentor SETs and STEs to drive improvements across team.
• Familiarity with industry best practices for quality management is a plus.
• Ability to prioritize and work independently as well as in a team environment.
• Strong customer focus, excellent problem solving and analytical skills.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.

Qualifications:
• BS or MS in Computer Science or equivalent
• Minimum 4+ years of Software development/testing and automation experience
• Solid design and development skills in one or all of the following C++, Java, C#, Junit, CPPUnit.
• Strong knowledge of SQL, relational databases & XML preferred.
• Experience with open source tools a plus.
