- Write, publish, and implement test plans based on requirements of task or project.

- Tracks bugs, defects, and metrics related to test plan implementation. Escalate bugs with extended resources within the Quality assurance team, Software developer(s), and database Administrator(s).

- Perform functional, integration and regression testing on new and updated versions of software products.

- Execute test plans using automating testing tools.

- Release Management for internal and external properties.

- Administer User Acceptance Testing Programs for new software.
- Lead training for new Quality Assurance Staff and other Technical departments.

- Participate in early stages of software construction.

- Present new quality assurance practices and procedures to the Technology Team.

- Analyze discrepancies in service and performance and make suggestions for improvement.

- Work closely with project stakeholders through Software Development Life Cycle.

- Configuration Management including software source control and Release plans.

- Manage Test Environment including deployment of code and machine competency

Skills/Requirements

- Microsoft Windows environment (server and PC operating systems).

- Knowledge of networking processes.

- Visual Studio Testing edition Experience desired.

- Bug Tracking software

- SQL Server Knowledge

- Knowledge of Unix, Linux, and other operating systems.

- Object Oriented programming language familiarity (.NET and Java).

- Exposure to Automated testing. Writing and running test scripts. 

- Expert understanding of the internet using many browsers.

- Release management skills

- Knowledge of Visual Source Safe, Team Foundation Server and other Source control Mediums.

- Familiar with Software architecture Basics.

- Degree in a related field desired.

- 5 + years experience in Quality Assurance

Details:

This position will begin as a 3-6 month contract to hire and we can only consider resumes from candidates able to work onsite in Chicago without visa sponsorship or relocation assistance.  Benefits will be available 30 days into the contract.

Conversion Salary will be based on years of experience and will range from $70,000-75,000 per year.
