The Senior Staff Accountant role is highly visible within our organization. Within the past year we have promoted 4 of our 9 staff accountants to other departments within our Finance Group.  The Senior Staff Accountant is responsible for communicating financial information across multiple departments in our organization, as well directly with senior management.  Responsibilities include producing account reconciliations, month-end close, financial analysis, and assist in preparation of financial statements in accordance with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles for all companies managed by TBC Corporation. Numerous special projects assigned from upper level management are also a part of your responsibility throughout the year.


Duties/Responsibilities:



  • Maintain detailed reconciliations for complex functional accounts for one or more entities
  • Provide accurate and timely recording of account transactions for month-end closing process, including the input of journal entries. 
  • Accumulate and report accounting and non-accounting data from various systems.
  • Review and analyze variances within the financial statements and report findings to management
  • Analyzing and reporting of divisional performance
  • Assist with quarterly review, annual external audit and internal JSOX compliance testing
  • Suggest and implement process improvements to daily accounting functions

Qualifications:



  • Bachelor's Degree in Accounting and/or CPA preferred.
  • Excellent Reconciliation and Analytical Skills
  • Outstanding written and verbal communication Skills
  • Excellent PC skills, including Excel, Access and Word. SAP experience is a plus.
  • Must be self-motivated and the able to effectively handle multiple projects with strict deadlines.
  • Minimum of 3 years of general accounting experience and strong understanding of GAAP
