Senior Accountant - Consolidations

About the Job

A large, publicly traded company that has a growing presence in the marketplace with international operations is seeking a Senior Accountant.  This position supports the Controller in the day to day accounting and analysis of financial results.


 


Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:


 



  • All aspects of the month end close process, including assisting in the preparation of consolidated financial statements 
  • Financial statement analysis – comparison of actual results to budget and forecast and reporting results and analysis to upper level management
  • Balance Sheet Reconciliations and various trend analysis
  • Preparation of financial statements
  • Recording of journal entries and booking of accruals
  • General Ledger maintenance
  • Produce daily financial and P&L reports for the holding company and multiple subsidiaries
  • Develop new and enhanced management reporting including graphs, tables, charts and ad-hoc reports
  • Work with daily finance and accounting team to develop efficient methods of collecting, organizing and disseminating financial information to management
  • Ad-hoc reporting and special projects

 


The ideal candidate will have:


 



  • Bachelors degree in accounting or finance; CPA required
  • 3+ years of accounting experience required.  Blend of Public Accounting and Corporate Accounting experience preferred 
  • Conscientious, detailed and willing to improve processes
  • Experience working with PeopleSoft required. 
  • Strong oral and written communication skills
  • Excellent organization skills
  • Strong interpersonal skills
  • Experienced user of Microsoft Office products (Excel, Word, PowerPoint and Access)
