As a Senior Storage Firmware Engineer, you will join a team of Firmware Applications Engineers in supporting exciting real-time firmware for state-of-art System-on-Chip devices with embedded enclosure management processors. You will report to the regional FAE Manager and your responsibilities will include the items below.
Responsibilities:

Focal point for customer technical contact.
-
Assist customer with project design, bring-up, and debug.
-
Evaluate new projects for potential application of Maxim parts from all product lines
-
Develop firmware for customer and generic use
-
Assist customer in driving all technical issues to root cause

Job Requirements:
-
Embedded C development (with emphasis in storage processing)
-
Knowledge of storage interface protocol standards such as SCSI, SATA, & SAS
-
BSEE or BSCE. MSEE or MSCE preferred.

Proven system-level debugging skills using diagnostic equipment such as logic/bus analyzers and oscilloscopes
-
7+ years of software/firmware system development for real-time application experience (with at least 4 years in a storage systems related position)
-
Effective/solid verbal and written communication skills of technical ideas

Understand customer’s questions and provide solutions and/or suggest code fixes
-
Highly motivated, sets personal goals, and achieves goals with little or no supervision
-
Travel of up to 10% may be required.
Desired Background

Experience in storage protocol development such as SCSI, SAS/SATA, RAID and/or enclosure management
-
Experience with RAID/HBA and SAS/SATA/SCSI architectures
-
SAS protocol analyzer experience
-
SES protocol knowledge
-
Previous customer facing position
