Senior Supervisor - Transmission Line Services

Our Transmission Line Services Department is seeking Senior Supervisors to join their team immediately.  The selected candidates will plan, schedule and supervise the work of employees or contractors engaged in the construction, operation, inspection, maintenance and repair of overhead transmission lines and associated equipment to insure safe, efficient, and uninterrupted service to customers in a manner consistent with Company and regulatory requirements.

 

Supervisors in Transmission Line Services work closely with other departments and contractor personnel to develop a construction work plan, detailed schedule S&H plan prior to the start of work and ensure that group resource needs are adequately identified and assigned to fully support the construction contract work plans, schedule and budget.  The Supervisors assure that personnel are properly directed, trained, licensed and evaluated within Company guidelines and procedures.  Additionally, you will coordinate with internal and external resources for pre-bid and pre-construction meetings and participate in calls/meetings to enforce the requirements of the contractor to provide weekly updates to support the Earned Value Analysis. 

 

Job Qualifications:

  • Associate or Bachelor Degree in electrical engineering is desirable.
  • Minimum of five (5) years experience in construction, operation and maintenance of transmission facilities with strong understanding of the applicable Construction Standards and work methods.
  • Strong knowledge of federal, state, OSHA, local and applicable environmental rules and regulations.
  • Strong interpersonal and leadership skills with self-direction and high motivation.
  • Ability to read construction field issues, prints, specification sheets, schematics, one line diagrams and instructional information to construct, maintain and troubleshoot transmission lines and equipment required.
  • Thorough understanding of electrical principles and the hazards associated with electrical transmission work and possess good mechanical aptitude.
  • Knowledge of applicable maintenance practices, safety requirements and labor contracts.
  • Able to travel throughout the service territory and work extended hours and weekends during planned or emergency situations as needed; travel may require overnight stays.
  • Strong verbal and written communications and interpersonal skills.
