Senior Supplier Quality Engineer
The individual in this role will have strong manufacturing experience in PCBA processes development and or support who is comfortable leading QMS process improvement efforts including the CAPA process and various inspection reduction activities. Familiarity with RoHS requirements, Fiber Optic processes and supplier management would also be helpful.
Responsibilities:
Manage the effective closure of CAPA corrective and preventative actions
Interface with PCBA suppliers on day to day quality issues or improvement processes
Assist ISO management representative in achieving and maintaining the Quality Management System and ISO certifications.
Manage the resolution of nonconforming materials and or product.
Provide guidance to inspectors on day to day tasks and problem resolution.
Assist quality management team in deploying new processes and software applications aimed at reducing inbound defects and reducing inspection times.
Assist in training new employees on the use of functional board testers, microscopes etc.
Assist the manufacturing and design engineering team in improving process yields.
Lead Kaizen process improvement efforts in quality
Support and initiate analysis efforts aimed at ensuring that our products are RoHS compliant.
Education:
4 year degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering.
Knowledge and Experience:
7-10 years experience as a Quality Engineer
Background in Supplier Quality Engineering specifically
Experience with RoHS, WEEE Requirements and Regulations
PCBA experience is a must – working in or with an EMS provider or as an OEM
Enjoys working with electronics engineering team to debug board issues and improvements
Strong understanding of IPC-A-600 workmanship standards
Strong knowledge of inspection processes including the determination of sampling plans necessary
Knowledge of fiber optic assy and test processes would be helpful
Skills and Abilities:
Intermediate to Advanced Excel, Power Point, Word
Intermediate MS Access
Expert in CATSweb
Intermediate with MiniTab
AUTOCad preferred but not required
Proven background as internal auditor or ISO management rep for ISO Audits
Able to manage CAPA process using CATSweb
Knowledge of ISO 9001-2008, ISO 13485
Must have participated in several Kaizen events
Should be comfortable leading process improvement efforts
Strong understanding of BOM’s ECO, WI, Procedures, waivers and Deviations etc.
Certifications:
ASQE Certification
Six Sigma Green or Black Belt
Lean MFG – Certification Preferred
