Position Description:

Austin, Texas-based NetSpend Corporation is the leader and fastest growing issuer of prepaid debit cards. Prepaid debit cards are in their infancy and now is the time to join this fast moving and exciting new area of financial services. The qualified candidate will be member of a team of System and Network Administrators responsible for supporting various aspects of our UNIX/Linux infrastructure. This is an operations role, and this individual will be responsible for maintaining, securing, and monitoring data center systems (hardware and software).

Responsibilities

·         Responsible for the installation, configuration, troubleshooting, support and maintenance of all UNIX systems (hardware and software) including Production, QA, and Development server environments.

·         Participate in 1st level 7x24x365 On-call support for mission-critical server systems.

·         Must be a results-oriented individual who has experience meeting the day to day demands of a growing organization with an expanding technology infrastructure.

·         The candidate will be expected to identify opportunities for improving system quality and for suggesting improvements to processes and tools.

·         Understand business drivers and strategies, and recognizes opportunities for technology innovation to support strategic initiatives.

Experience/Skills/Education

·         5+ years working in 24x7x365 production environment with Unix/Linux enterprise systems with medium-sized RAID, FC, & SAN storage.

·         Prefer experience in card processing and high-transaction processing environment

·         Experience and familiarity with security best practices and with participating in IT audits.

·         Experience with PCI audits (preferred)

·         Demonstrated System Administration skills supporting Solaris mid-range servers in a mission-critical environment.

·         Current experience with Veritas disk management and backup tools

·         Current experience with EMC Clarion products

·         Familiarity with J2EE application architectures and administration.

·         Working knowledge of the following products: FC-AL storage, Veritas VM/FS, Sun Volume Manager, Solstice DiskSuite, Jumpstart configurations, PERL, BIND, and Sendmail,

·         Excellent verbal and written communications skills.

·         Demonstrated ability to deliver results, prioritize activities, and to manage time effectively.

·         Basic Oracle Database administration, e.g. starting, stopping, RMAN, and monitoring health.

·         Working knowledge of Network Administration for Cisco routers and firewalls, in a multi-campus, LAN/WAN infrastructure.  

·         Bachelor of Science in Computer Science or related degree preferred, or equivalent work experience.

·         Position may require installation and removal of rack mount equipment in a raised floor environment.

·         Position may require heavy lifting and physical activity in the form of packing and unpacking equipment.

·         All eligible candidates must be able to meet NetSpend’s Background Check policy: able to pass drug test; no felonies and/or misdemeanors on criminal history; less than $4,000 in collections and/or charge-offs on credit check.
