Description

We are looking for a Systems Administrator who maintains smooth operation of multi-user computer systems, including coordination with network administrators. Duties may include setting up administrator and service accounts, maintaining system documentation, tuning system performance, installing system wide software and allocate mass storage space. The SA interacts with users and evaluates vendor products, makes recommendations to purchase hardware and software, coordinates installation and provides backup recovery, and develops and monitors policies and standards for allocation related to the use of computing resources.

• All work is performed without appreciable direction. The SA exercises considerable latitude in determining technical objectives and approaches to assignment. Completed work is reviewed from a relatively long-term perspective, for desired results.
  
• The SA guides the successful completion of major programs and may function in a project leadership role. Erroneous decisions or recommendations would typically result in failure to achieve major organizational objectives.
  
• The SA applies extensive technical expertise, and has full knowledge of other related disciplines.
  
• The SA represents the organization as the prime technical contact on contracts and projects and interacts with senior external personnel on significant technical matters often requiring coordination between organizations.
  
• The SA develops technical solutions to complex problems which require the regular use of ingenuity and creativity.

Clearance Required:

• Secret Clearance required – Judicated /or Interim Top Secret

Required Skills:

• A combination of Windows and Unix system admin skills is a must
  
• Windows 2003 Server Administration (Windows 2000 if the person has GCCS-A experience) and basic Unix administration skills
  
• Application installation (preferably GCCS-A, GCCS-J – this translates into DRRS-A better than no DoD experience) into both Windows and Unix environments
  
• Java-based application deployment to Unix and WebLogic platforms is a critical skill
  
• IBM BladeCenter hardware experience
  
• Basic SAN knowledge
  
• WebLogic installation and administration
  
• Oracle installation
  
• Ghost experience
  
• Help desk experience is good indication of troubleshooting skills if – Tier II or Tier III
  
• SiteMinder or F5 experience would be a plus

Virtualization Skills:

• Windows 2003 Server
  
• VMWare
  
• Microsoft Virtual PC if no VMWare experience
  
• Trusted Solaris or Solaris 10 zones can also translate into VMWare concept
  
• Citrix or Terminal Services experience would most likely help in this area

Clearance Required: Secret – Judicated /or Interim TS
