Elbit Systems of America, C4I Solutions is searching for a Tactical Computer Systems Senior Systems Engineer for the McLean, VA location. A successful candidate will serve as a lead systems engineer. The candidate should have significant military subject matter expertise, especially in tactical computer products and systems and the design & development of tactical computer products. The candidate must remain current with policy and organizational trends in DoD and provide assessments of the business impacts of changes and the development of new business opportunities.


Responsibilities:
Assists in the preparation of proposals, writing of white papers and assessment of requirements for targeted business opportunities. The candidate must be current on emerging technologies & integrates these within with ESA processes & technologies. Acts as Lead Systems Engineer on medium to large size programs and proposals. Leads the team by remaining critically objective. Applies broad depth of knowledge to solutions.

Demonstrates Leadership as follows:

- Involved in the identification and/or development of breakaway technologies;

- Able to manage a risk profile and design effective mitigation strategies;

-Takes responsibility for the technical issues that affect the team;

- Defines the trade space for the team.


Qualifications:
BS Degree in a technical field related to systems engineering. Advanced degree recommended. - Minimum 10 years experience in Systems Engineering - Detailed technical knowledge and background in PC, PDA, vehicle and wearable tactical computer systems, networking and interfaces to common military architectures, application and systems development for proof of concept demonstrations.  Continuously researching and knowledgeable in current technologies associated with the domains above.  Able to determine competitive technical advantage. Experience in integrating systems based around COTS technical solutions.  Experience in leading multidiscipline engineering teams. Capable of deriving and proposing technical solutions based on vague system requirements. Applies Engineering and Organizational knowledge and expertise to achieve technical goals. Leads Technical Peer Reviews. Breaks down barriers to progress and motivates less experienced members of the team to action. Excellent written, oral and presentation communication skills. Secret level U.S. DoD security clearance is desired. Applicant must be able to pass an extended background investigation (EBI) for this position.

Applicant must be a US Citizen.

Must be able to travel 30% of the time.

Secret level U.S. DoD security clearance is desired or able to obtain a US Security Clearance
