We are currently seeking Senior Tax Accountants to join our team of professionals in
St. Louis, MO.

 

Job Responsibilities:

  • Performs a broad range of diversified accounting assignments, demonstrating sound knowledge of financial statement preparation, tax preparation and tax law
  • Participates in planning and scheduling of client engagements
  • Oversees and instructs assigned Staff I, II, and Intern positions as necessary
  • Shares knowledge and provides positive honest feedback and guidance; effectively delegates and leverages work to ensure client satisfaction and staff development
  • Efficiently and accurately prepares and reviews work papers
  • Prepares complicated tax returns for individual, corporate, partnership, and others; suggests client tax planning ideas to manager or partner
  • Prepares routine correspondence; processes reports; develops/maintains spreadsheets; assists in research of complex technical issues as necessary
  • Demonstrates advanced working knowledge and understanding of tax compliance
  • Demonstrates working knowledge and understanding of the audit process
  • Demonstrates ability to monitor project status to meet budgets, deadlines and quality control standards; appropriately prioritizes multiple assignments
  • Develops an understanding of clients’ business, and of the unique aspects of each client’s industry
  • Assumes responsibility for client workload; anticipates or recognizes problems/issues and recommends solutions in a timely manner, keeping manager and/or partner informed
  • Actively promotes and facilitates teamwork throughout the firm
  • Establishes and maintains relationships with clients; develops and maintains referral network 
  • Actively pursues opportunities for firm growth
  • Meets w/clients on a regular basis, develops business familiarity through client interaction; returns all phone calls in a prompt and professional manner
  • Performs a variety of assigned firm management / administrative responsibilities, including performance feedback as requested
  • Maintains and expands professional skills via CPE and other sources
  • Contributes to the firm’s objectives by fostering a positive environment with personal cooperation and a good attitude
  • Demonstrates firm’s objective of integrity and professional compassion by treating others fairly and with respect
  • Exhibits professional conduct towards visitors, clients and fellow employees through appearance and manner
 
Job Requirements
  • Must have a Bachelors degree in accounting or related field and active work toward the completion of hours required to sit for the CPA exam
  • CPA highly preferred
  • Must have AT LEAST (3) three years of progressively responsible recent experience in public accounting, with demonstrated advanced knowledge of tax accounting
  • Experience with Pro System FX a plus
  • Must possess proficiency in Microsoft Office package, and the ability to quickly become proficient in the firm’s other information technology tools
  • Must possess excellent written and oral communication skills, and strong ability to plan and organize work for self and others as well as strong interpersonal skills
  • Must be comfortable with same day travel for work at client offices, meetings, or to attend training using a personal vehicle
  •  Occasional overnight travel for longer engagements or special assignments may be  possible
  • Overtime work as required throughout the year; primarily during busy season
