Senior Tax Strategist / CPA

About the Job

Gradient Financial Group, LLC is a leading nationwide financial services company consisting of five entities and is seeking a CPA to serve as Senior Tax Strategist and lead key initiatives for Gradient Tax, LLC, an independent, privately-owned tax planning, preparation and filing firm serving individuals and businesses. Services are marketed through independent financial services professionals (investment advisors/registered representatives/insurance agents) in all 50 states.


Specific responsibilities will include but not be limited to:



  • Lead the development of the firm’s Roth IRA Conversion program
  • Develop and organize the company’s “IRA University”
  • Serve as the expert figurehead to help grow the firm’s practice
  • Present at conferences and via webinar to financial services professionals
  • Support other Gradient Financial Group companies by providing tax advice
  • Generate customized reports for the firm’s clients/distribution on a variety of subjects, including: Roth IRA conversions, qualified plan distributions, spousal rollovers, income taxes, estate taxes, IRD calculations and other applicable reports
  • Coach others on the use of the above reports
  • Develop, lead and manage a team of tax preparers
  • Ability to multi-task & operate efficiently in a high volume entrepreneurial environment 
  • Participate in projects as a subject matter expert
  • Have the ability to handle competing priorities, be self directed and able to manage workload and make deadlines
  • Handle day-to-day calls from financial services professionals/clients
  • Lead the implementation of systems and processes

 


Qualifications include an active CPA certificate, 4+ years tax preparation experience, experienced in individual income and estate tax issues, IRA taxation, proficient with tax regulations and reporting and a minimum proficiency in business taxation issues. Public speaking ability, phone skills, and the ability to “think on your feet” are a must. Strong communication and technical skills required.  Proficient in Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint and any commercially used tax preparation software.


 


Financial services industry experience including knowledge of insurance, advisory and securities products is a plus. Relevant licensure/registrations (ex: series 6, 7, 65/66) will assist in acclimating quickly.
