Position Description:
The Technical Consultant is primarily responsible for analysis, maintenance, trouble-shooting, and resolution of daily production issues. This person will work closely with Application Service Provider (ASP) Business and Implementation teams, answer Client Support Referrals from Client Support Group, and be accountable for ensuring clients are confident in all aspects of SunGard ASP operations stability and responsiveness to issues. This person will be responsible for Implementation of Products into the Development, Test, and Production Environments.
• Complete Implementation of Dev, Test, and Prod Environment. Work close with Business Consultant to complete Implementation of Client’s Environment.
• Trouble-shoot Dev, Test, Prodution Environment Issues and escalate within SunGard Infrastructure for resolution via appropriate issue tracking tools.
• Coordination of documentation of Dev, Test, Prod Environment including server and application Visio diagrams, schedule charts, file transfer configurations, escalation points, incident reports, daily run sheets, port and IP charts, Decision-Tree spreadsheet for incidents, STS scheduling, statistics and metrics of targeted run times.
• Accountability for process improvement and stability around client environments.
• Manage risks and communicate to Business Analyst or Client Support Staff to set expectations
• On-call support for off-hour and holiday timeframes on a rotating schedule.
• Facilitate the progress of Service Bureau Requests and assist with changes for SBR’s when needed.
• Provide support to appropriate personnel during the design, development, configuration and testing phase.
• Support client on-site during implementation and testing as needed.
• Work closely with other SunGard Product Units including Omni Core, EXP, Web, etc to resolve ASP client issues.
Position Requirements:
• Bachelor's degree in an IT-related discipline or equivalent of eductation and experience
• Minimum 3 years experience with Unix, Windows, OmniScript, OmniPlus, Server Management, Connect Direct (File Transfer), Oracle, SQL Server, Weblogic, Websphere, JBoss, Enterprise Architectures a plus
• Must be detail oriented, responsible, self-motivated and goal centered
• Must possess excellent oral and written communication skills
• Ability to positively represent SunGard in front of client personnel
• Ability to coordinate internal and external resources when necessary
• Familiarity with client-server applications, web based applications, databases and networking
• Ability to travel up to 100%
