Senior Technical Program Manager - Ordering

We have a need for a creative and driven Senior Technical Program Manager to drive improvements and architectural change within the ordering experience at Amazon. The Ordering Team at Amazon.com enables millions of customers to place orders using Amazon's technology across the globe each year.

As a Senior Technical Program Manager, you will manage strategic initiatives and programs within the Ordering space and will work with the engineering leaders to coordinate the technical development effort and operational processes. This is a challenging and rewarding environment.

The following skills are key:

•An understanding of Architecture: prior experience in a group that migrated from an ad hoc architecture to a new architecture a plus.

•Able to develop a strategic vision: balancing vision with business realities.

•Lead a matrixed technical group, with competing priorities, while creating a strong sense of team.

•Define and document feature/functional specifications; including, but not limited to, APIs.

•Facilitate design discussions, challenge and lead technology decision making.

•Document and hold teams accountable to decisions.

•Skilled at creating an e-commerce service that both internal and external customers can plug into.

•Estimate, schedule and track projects: get your hands dirty herding cats.

•Communicate effectively with technology leaders and business owners.

•Ability to take a complex project plan and create a PowerPoint presentation.

•Manage multiple concurrent projects.

•Exhibit grace under pressure.
