Senior UI Developer
Position Description:
RealNetworks, Inc. is a rapidly growing, cutting edge technology, web based digital music, online gaming and streaming company headquartered in Seattle, Washington. Real provides the universal platform for the delivery of any digital media from any point of origin, across virtually any network, to any person on any Internet-enabled device, anywhere in the world.
The Senior UI Developer will have strong software design experience, excellent communication skills and be a well-rounded developer. Candidates are expected to have 5-10 years of professional experience.
The successful candidate will have real-world experience optimizing size and performance of applications and frameworks. You will be responsible for implementing new features in existing applications as well as developing complex applications from top to bottom, with a primary focus on User Interface development.
Job Requirements:
• BS in computer science or equivalent
• Strong object oriented programming and design skills
• Proven track record writing multi-threaded code and experience with synchronous and asynchronous code
• Experience developing UI for media applications that interfaces with lower OS layer
• Excellent problem solving, critical thinking, and communication skills
• Experience at the application and user interface level with at least one of the following: Mac OS X API's, Android, Java, C++, Win32, and WindowsCE
• Familiarity with Linux
Additional Success Factors:
• Experience developing reusable APIs
• Delivery of successful consumer product
• Multimedia related experience
• Database experience, including practical knowledge of database client API's and experience designing databases with an eye on performance
• OpenGL
• Linux device drivers
• Web services development
• Data modeling
Education, Certification, and/or Training:
Minimum:
• Bachelors Degree in Computer Science, Physics or Mathematics or related engineering field or 7 years base working experience in lieu of the degree.
Preferred:
• Masters Degree in Computer Science, Physics or Mathematics or related engineering field.
