Lead UX Designer (ecommerce/retail)

About the Job


Bestica Inc., nation’s leading User Experience Staffing firm is seeking a Lead UX Designer who will be able to conceptualize and design multi-channel experiences, learn about the customers, and advocate for the customer’s point of view.

Responsibilities:

• Collaborate with product managers and other partners to brainstorm ideas, develop concepts, and define project goals.

• Facilitate discussions of the user experience to expose key questions and requirements.

• Work with a user researcher to plan and execute studies to better understand the customer, get feedback on directions and concepts, and validate designs.

• Skillfully merge research findings, creative innovation, and best practices to generate unique, strategic solutions.

• Create wireframes, flow diagrams, and other artifacts to communicate and document designs.

• Present design solutions and strategies to bring the user story to life for a wide audience.

• Review output from other teams to ensure a high level of usability and engagement.

• Explore analytics data to inform our understanding of customer behavior and the site experience.

• Look for opportunities to connect channels (e.g. store and site, mobile and store, etc.)

• Be a customer advocate throughout the discovery and definition process.

• Serve as subject matter expert on the user experience and our customers.

• Help to mentor other team members.

 

Requirements:

• College Degree in information design, human factors, HCI, cognitive psychology, or related discipline.

• 8+ years of dedicated experience in interaction design, information architecture, and user experience strategy, and concept development.

• Extensive experience creating wireframes and related artifacts.

• Demonstrated experience solving usability issues in a multi-disciplinary team environment.

• Able to reconcile user needs with business goals and technology constraints.

• Excellent communication and presentation skills, both written and spoken.

• Ability to manage and prioritize multiple projects.

• Experience with customer-facing websites and mobile applications.

• Strong preference to those with agency and/or consulting experience.

• Work samples, portfolios and project case studies are appreciated.
